Just like with anything that is unfamiliar to them, a COVID-19 swab test can be scary for your little bean. But if they are experiencing symptoms or have been exposed to the virus, you will need to have them checked through a confirmatory test, one that will require nasal and/or oral swabs.
And for kids, sticking a long swab up their nose is not the most comfortable of experiences. To help prepare your child should they need to be submitted to these tests, we ask mamas to share tips on how to make it less of a cryfest for our little ones:
Mom of 4 kids Ronna Gail de Guzman-Bufi believed preparation was key when her kids had to undergo the procedure for a travel requirement.
Berlene Vallangca, mom of 2, enumerated a few tips for fellow mamas. Her little ones underwent swab tests after they showed symptoms of the Omicron variant. Thankfully, their results came back negative.
Icel Ragudo shared she booked a home service swab test after her three kids were exposed to their COVID-positive grandmother.
Rozanne Ureta and her two little ones were exposed to a sick person and also had symptoms, hence they did a confirmatory test.
Abby Tabladillo said her three children experienced being swabbed as it was part of a travel requirement.
As a mother of two active big kids, Sheila Wong always worries about them. They had to undergo a swab test after one of their neighbors tested positive for the virus.
Iam Serrano also believes in explaining the procedure as part of preparing her two kids for the swab test.
