This Mama Is Raising Kids Who Actually Don’t Know How To Lie!

There’s nothing more a mama wants than to see that the children she raised grow up to be good people who make the world a better place in their own ways. To edamama Circle mama Ange Yao-Lim, this is the best thing about being a mama. And what is she most proud of? Raising honest kids.
“I have kids who don't know how to lie!” Ange gushes. “My kids would always choose the right thing to do. Even my boys. Boys will be boys! They are unruly and all, but when it comes to doing things, they always choose to do the right thing.”
Ange describes her parenting style as practical, firm, and nurturing. This has paid off in a way that she sees her kids are not at all ashamed or afraid to apologize.
“When they do something that they think is bad, they get guilty right away and confess or make up to it,” Ange said. That way I think we did something right in raising them.”
A young mom of three, Ange is a fashion and beauty momfluencer who enjoys sharing beauty and skincare routines, mom budols, and wellness tips to fellow mamas online. She is also “teacher mama” to her kids, always looking for ways to educate her kids through discovery and play.
Life Before Motherhood
Before embracing her role as a full-time mama, she once worked as a fashion stylist for editorial shoots and for various talents in the past.
Ange was like any other Filipina child – she wanted to become many things, such as a lawyer and a fashion designer. If there was one thing that remained constant for her growing up, however, it was her dream of one day becoming a homemaker.
“This is not pambobola, but I’ve always seen myself as a mom. Even when I was still playing bahay-bahayan with my playmates, the story always went like this: ‘I am a 25-year-old career woman going home to my family.’”
Fulfilling Her Greatest Dream
While Ange never became a lawyer or a fashion designer, she fulfilled her greatest dream – to become a wife and mom to her beautiful family. To her, nothing else mattered, and there’s currently no place she’d rather be than to be at home with her family.
Ange puts on her mama suit every day, and looks forward to whatever it brings. Her “mama uniform” consists of a basic tank top to suit the Philippine weather, jeans/a skirt/shorts, and cute shoes or sandals. Being the fashionista that she is, Ange accessorizes her simple looks with statement bracelets or minimalist necklaces.
Ange’s Wish for Fellow Mamas
Being a full-time mom is fulfilling, but it is also no easy feat. Ange’s wish for herself and her fellow mamas would be to get more time for themselves. “Reset once in a while. Because this will make us better mamas,” Ange says.
For her, one way for mamas to get some me-time in would be to practice a beauty and skin-care routine.
Having a nice, warm bath is something Ange swears by to brighten her mood every day. She uses Zenutrients’ Gugo Strengthening Shampoo and Conditioner, and exfoliates using their Coffee Smoothening Body Scrub, too.
Ange also recommends having a trusted moisturizer that suits your skin type, which you can use every day, to nourish and protect your skin. What works best for her is Cetaphil’s Daily Facial Moisturizer, which you can easily find on edamama.
Last, but definitely not least, Ange recommends getting a good amount of sleep (in cute pajamas!), so that mamas are ready to face whatever the day brings with your little ones in tow.
